Big Dreams Raises Big Bucks for Kids with Cancer
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recently received a big donation, thanks to the love and dedication of three local teenage girls.
On Sunday, Aug. 29, the second annual Big Dreams Junior Charity Tennis Tournament was held at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center. Over 80 children, ages 10 to 18, came together to compete, win prizes and make a difference. Each participant paid a $30 entrance fee, and all of the money raised -- $7,500 total -- went to the Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
The tournament was spearheaded by Tori Weprinsky, a sophomore at North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs; Tori's cousin, Casey Mackintosh, a senior at Walton High School in Marietta; and a friend, Katie Paradies, a senior at Woodward Academy in College Park.
