Retailer with the most sparkle
If Fido dreams of Santa, you might get an idea of what he’s thinking by checking out the window display at Red Bandanna Pet Foods and Supplies. The retailer was named top entry in the Second Annual Sparkle Sandy Springs design competition sponsored by the City of Sandy Springs, Sandy Springs Hospitality and Tourism and Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce. The contest was open to the entire business community with the goal of shining a bit extra holiday light on the City’s local businesses.
“We were thrilled to see participation more than double this year,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos. “We have such a great business community. The contest is a wonderful way to bring added attention to them during the holiday shopping season. Our participants definitely brought added sparkle to the City!”
Registrants were scored based on creativity and originality, best expression of theme, best use of lighting, best use of available space and overall design quality and presentation. In addition to Red Bandanna’s award for Overall Design Quality and Presentation, four Honorable Mentions were announced. Hammocks Trading Company with Santa chilling out on an oversized hammock, was selected as Most Creative. Bean Head Toys, with its combination of lights, stars and toys, received the honorable mention for Expression of Theme. Sandy Springs Design Center kept its area around Roswell Road well lit and received the nod for Best Use of Lighting. Slopes BBQ was honored for its Use of Space with their seasonally decorated windows.
The winner and honorable mentions were announced during the Sandy Springs Dec. 18, City Council meeting.
