SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- The city of Sandy Springs will hold its second annual Stars and Stripes Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 5.
Last year's event was "akin to baptism by torrential rain," according to Mayor Rusty Paul, so officials hope for clear skies this July.
The fun will officially begin at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Concourse Corporate Center. Attendees are welcome to bring snacks and crowd-friendly toys, such as balls (softball-size) and Frisbees.
Live music will start at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:45 p.m.
Stars and Stripes is free to attend. Parking will be available in Concourse Parking Deck Two and a marked lot at the corporate center's Peachtree Dunwoody Road entrance.
