SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Ten people escaped injury early Thursday morning when a giant tree crashed onto the roof of their Sandy Springs home.

The tree came down around 4 a.m. at a home on Mystic Place.

Fire Capt. Scott McColl blamed the recent rains and high winds.

The house suffered extensive damage and had its electricity shut off. The residents were evacuated to temporary housing.
