4 Riverwood seniors win scholarships | People
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Four graduating seniors at Riverwood International Charter School won $1,000 scholarships from the school's PTA.
The four young women -- Nicole Bills, Djenne Nizam, Valheria Rocha and Kara Wexler -- were chosen by a committee of their teachers and counselors. The winners had to write essays and display financial need to receive the money.
A number of Riverwood students earned various honors at their graduation ceremony last month.
About 47 percent of the seniors graduated with honors, meaning they had cumulative GPAs of at least 88 out of 100. Forty students were recognized for pursuing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, while 55 percent of seniors earned International Studies Magnet Seals on their diplomas.
