Meal in $20: Best Burgers in town

Meal in $20: Best Burgers in town

ATLANTA – It’s safe to say that the status of Best Burger in Atlanta is relative. The classic signature burger at Murphy’s in Virginia Highland is served with avocado mayo, cheese and bacon and the signature burger at newcomer restaurant, Grindhouse Killer Burgers is topped with American cheese, grilled onions and Grindhouse sauce; both burgers are pretty delicious and represent the flavor of Atlanta burgers but neither is considered to be the best.

In fact, the “best” burger in town is in such demand that people actually line up to taste it and some run the risk of being chastised if they don’t follow the “rules” of the burger shop.

The “perfect” burger can contain a number of ingredients depending on who you ask. Some people like ketchup and mustard others like mayo and cheese. However, the best thing about Atlanta burger eateries is that they offer something for everyone.

Wendy's moving 170 jobs from Atlanta to Ohio

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- The Wendy's Co. reported Thursday that it will shut down its Atlanta restaurant support center in Sandy Springs in late 2012 and move at least 170 positions to its new Ohio headquarters.

In August, Wendy's reported the move of its headquarters from Atlanta back to Dublin, Ohio, thanks to $12 million in incentives from Ohio and the city of Dublin. The chain called this offer a "major factor" in its decision to consolidate.

Wendy's Atlanta restaurant support center is at 1155 Perimeter Center West. Employees will be given the opportunity to relocate to central Ohio and will receive retention bonuses if they decide to move.

Those who do not relocate will be given enhanced severance packages, outplacement counseling services and other benefits.

Wendy's said it will continue to operate its South Region office in Alpharetta. The chain has nearly 300 restaurants in Georgia.
