Rachel McGovern, a member of the Class of 2015 at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES), has been given a national Woman of Impact award by Off the Field, a national, nonprofit organization made up of NFL wives. The charitable group, which held its national conference in Atlanta April 23–26, recognized McGovern for her dedicated service with Girl Talk, an international mentoring program in which high school girls help middle school girls build self-esteem, develop leadership skills, and value community service.

The graduating senior has been a member of the national Girl Talk board for three years, a leader for the Holy Innocents’ chapter of Girl Talk, and a counselor at the Girl Talk summer camp, Project Inside Out. She will be the camp’s co-director in June.

Rachel McGovern is an outstanding young lady who embodies all of the qualities of a Girl Talk Leader,” said Courtney Johnson, Girl Talk director of programs. "She is kind, confident, and has a servant's heart.

“Rachel has served hundreds of hours with Girl Talk over the past four years, raised over $2,000 to help support our mission, and will take on the highest leadership position at our summer camp, Project Inside Out, at HIES in June. We could not be more prouder of her.”

McGovern, who will attend Auburn University in the fall, has also been awarded a Best of the Batch Youth Leader Scholarship, which recognizes her high level of academic achievement, and demonstrated commitment to helping others through impactful community service.

Off the field was established in 2006, as a national non-profit organization. The mission of the organization is “to “create awareness of children and family needs in communities, and raise funds for local and national charitable organizations that emphasize strengthening the family.”
